TO KTTC MEMBERS AND PARENTS

This is a very difficult message to write.

First, thank you for your support of Kids to the Cup over the last six years.

What we accomplished as a group is truly amazing—31 major Road Trips to marquee racing events, including seven Breeders’ and six trips each to the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Nearly 1,100 parents and members made those trips and personally met the best human and equine stars in the game.

We experienced many wonderful moments on our Road Trips and most of you were introduced to an aspect of Thoroughbred racing you had never seen before and are unlikely to enjoy again.

Unfortunately, good ideas, fine organizations and worthy causes don’t last forever. For a variety of reasons, it is time to say ‘farewell’ to Kids to the Cup.

There will be no Road Trips this year and the web site will soon shut down.

We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the people and organizations who have donated to KTTC, to racetrack managements and staffs for welcoming us inside their gates, and to our founder and president Trudy McCaffery, who first listened to the voices of young racing fans and helped them to realize their dreams.

Because of Kids to the Cup, lifetime friendships have been formed, memories created and lessons learned. It was our pleasure to meet and to trade correspondence with all of you and we wish you continued success as eventual members of the racing community-- officials, owners, trainers, jockeys and fans.

Sincerely,
Johnny D.
