Ryan Brady
and Tommy Cuccinotta, from Ohio; Katee Whitesell of California;
and Mathew Devcich from Virginia were essay contest winners
who enjoyed prime seats at the '03 Belmont Stakes for Funny
Cide's run at the Triple Crown.
Along for
the show were members Carly Silver, Susie Raisher, Jess Paquette,
Ryan Hanna, Robin Tan, and Nikki Sherman. As usual, KTTC house
photographer Brandon Benson also was on the scene along with
many parents.
Friday morning,
after watching morning workouts, the group visited the barns
of D. Wayne Lukas, Bobby Frankel and Todd Pletcher, as well
as joining a press conference at the barn of Barclay Tagg. The
group met with jockey Jose Santos and Jerry Bailey along the
track apron.
Even though
Saturday afternoon ended with lots of rain and no Triple Crown
winner, the excitement and anticipation throughout the day were
at an all-time high. Nothing could dampen this group's spirit
as KTTC completed another successful Triple Crown run.
