Peppermint
Kid is a 2-year-old colt by Kingmambo and out of the mare Proper
Protocal. Laddie Dance and Jeanne Vance bought him in Ocala
at the Keeneland Fall Yearling sale for $650,000. He was foaled
in Kentucky on February 10, 1999. I have yet to see a photo
but according to Mr. Dance he is nearly a clone of Lemon Drop
Kid, which means I'm already falling in love with him.
On Sunday,
April 08, 2001 Peppermint had his first "official"
workout. Three furlongs in 0:38.0 at Belmont. The next day,
April 9th, he ran another three furlongs in 0:38.0 at Belmont.
On April 15th he ran another three furlongs in 0:37.0 at Belmont.
April 16th: 3f in 0:37.0 @ Belmont.
