At various times throughout the year KTTC honors an outstanding member with the Member of the Month Award. This honor goes to a member of the organization who has performed distinguished work in the field of Thoroughbred racing. The honoree receives a commemorative plaque from KTTC and is archived on the KTTC web site as an example of racing's talented young fans.

KTTC Members of the Month September/October 2001

Abbey Jorstad and Ryen Hanna were the driving forces behind Kids to the Cup's second annual local trip to Emerald Downs for the Longacres Mile. In conjunction with Kerry Dalton and Susie Sourwine of the track's marketing department, Abbey and Ryen executed a flawless trip to the jewel of the northwest.

Both girls are veterans of several KTTC Road Trips and had their own ideas about what features a visit to the track should include. They built upon the successes of the local trip from the previous year and added a few new wrinkles, including an extended visit to track announcer Robert Geller's booth.
