At various times throughout the year KTTC honors an outstanding member with the Member of the Month Award. This honor goes to a member of the organization who has performed distinguished work in the field of Thoroughbred racing. The honoree receives a commemorative plaque from KTTC and is archived on the KTTC web site as an example of racing's talented young fans.

KTTC Members of the Month April 2005

Amanda Bishop and Ashley Stribling are the first two KTTC members to complete all six books in the Horse Course series. Amanda finished the course on December 2, 2004 and Ashley completed her work on December 27, 2004.

The Horse Course is presented in conjunction with Eclipse Press, a division of Blood-Horse Publications. KTTC members register for the Horse Course and are mailed the first book in the series: Basic Horse Care. Upon completion of the book members pass an online examination and are then mailed the second book in the series: Horse Behavior. Tests are passed and books mailed until the series is completed. Remaining books in the series are: The Pony; The Young Horse; The Older Horse; and Equine Nutrition.

Because of their outstanding dedication to the Horse Course and in recognition of their achievement, KTTC is proud to honor Amanda Bishop and Ashley Stribling as Members of the Month for April 2005.
