KIDS TO THE CUP SHINE THROUGH RAINY PREAKNESS STAKES!

Although the weather for Preakness '03 wasn't cherry, a group of Kids to the Cup members still managed to have a sterling time. Friday morning members Carly Silver, CT; Sean Goehring, CA; and Robin Tan, PA, winners of tickets to 'Susan and Special Day as well as Preakness Day, were joined by members Emma and Ellie Shaw for a tour of the Pimlico facilities. Friday evening they took in the pre-Preakness party at Camden Yards to watch the Orioles play baseball.

Trainer Lisa Lewis, who saddled Kissin Saint in the big race, welcomed the group under her shedrow, spoke with the group, and even allowed members to visit with the colt.

Of course, the Preakness itself was a tour de force for Funny Cide as he romped home well clear of the pack. He is well poised to make an assault on that most-coveted prize: the Triple Crown.

Always a special part of the Preakness trip, members joined the post-race celebration at the Stakes barn where the Funny Cide's hearty group of owners stole the show.

Gift bags were presented to contest winners courtesy of the Maryland Jockey Club.
