Letter from the President

It's hard to believe that Kids to the Cup now enters our fifth year. The ride has been tremendous. We've met lots of fantastic members and parents on Road Trips to the Santa Anita Derby, Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont and Breeders' Cup races, as well as on numerous local trips.

This Spring KTTC will conduct our 5th annual Triple Crown Essay Competition and award seats at the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes to talented winners and their parents. In the Fall we plan to again offer the Breeders' Cup Essay Competition and present seats to that exciting event.

These Road Trips also are open to any KTTC member and I encourage parents and members to attend these trips if possible. They are educational and fun and a great place to meet other racing fans.

Our web site has grown substantially and now, thanks to the support of Eclipse Press, a division of the Blood Horse, includes the popular educational series, Horse Course, which has been a rousing success.

Kids to the Cup sponsors two Edwin Gregson Memorial scholarship winners: Amelia Baldree, Equine Industry Program, College of Business and Public Administration at the University of Louisville and Susie Raisher, Racetrack Industry program at the University of Arizona.

Kids to the Cup is financed through generous donations from various sectors of the racing community: owners, trainers, racetracks, NTRA Charities, and fans. Without this continued support the organization would cease to function. We thank everyone that has supported us over the years.

Our goal is to continue to grow and to provide more educational and fun opportunities to our members. A recurring theme of Kids to the Cup is that members are elated to find a place where they can share their love of horses and racing.
