| KTTC Members Brave Windy City Elements at BC '02
Hearty members
of Kids to the Cup braved cold, wind and rain to enjoy the group's
fourth annual trip to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships
in Chicago, IL.
The day
before the B.C. races KTTC members visited the barns of several
Breeders' Cup starters and enjoyed an audience with trainer
Bobby Frankel, who went on to saddle two winners on the big
day. Of course the group spent quality time at the barn of Paco
Gonzalez and met Classic starter Came Home in person. KTTC president
and co-owner of Came Home joined the group at the barn.
Other highlights
from this year's event included:
KTTC member
Jonathan Horowitz as part of an All-Star Announcer roster to
call the races during Friday's card.
KTTC member
Amelia Baldree who was awarded the initial $1,000 KTTC Edwin
Gregson Scholarship sponsored by KTTC director and horse owner
William Schwartz of SMD Stable.
No matter
the wind, cold or chill factor, KTTC members enjoyed a memorable
afternoon watching the world's best horses perform at beautiful
Arlington Park.
