A group
of 40 KTTC members and parents invaded Santa Anita Park for
two days of racing action. Trainers D. Wayne Lukas, Bob Baffert,
Edwin Gregson, Paco Gonzalez, Jenine Sahadi and Tom Proctor
spoke with members on topics from training to feeding racehorses.
Trackman Steve Wood and horseshoer Richard Anderson also spoke
to the group extensively about their crafts. Owners Bob Lewis
and John Toffan also contributed their valuable expertise.
Santa Anita
Park helped sponsor the trip and provided tickets to the races.
The group also enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Derby Restaurant
in Arcadia, CA compliments of owner Chip Sturniolo, who escorted
the group on a tour of the museum-like restaurant.
