KTTC has
set some lofty goals for the next few years that include:
- The Edwin
J. Gregson Memorial Scholarship
- Sponsored
trips to marquee racing events
- Placement
of members in jobs and intern programs at racetracks, farms,
and other organizations
- Development
of a Thoroughbred racing curriculum for teenagers
Why
should you contribute to KTTC?
Kids
put it best...
...I learned
so much and my dreams feel totally revived because not a single
person we met didn't believe in us. That was really important
to me because sometimes I feel as though I am chasing a dream
I can never have Emily 14, Chatsworth, CA
...Once
again I would like to thank you for the most amazing experience
on the planet. I loved being with the people that I chat with
on the net Jesse, Souse, Mike, and Matt it was
so fun, I had tears when I left on the plane! Brandon
13, Millbrook, NY
...I always
wanted to meet D. Wayne Lukas. He is very funny. Seeing what
the horses eat was interesting. I also learned why horses eat
what they eat... Thirdly, I would like to thank you for the
great time at The Derby Restaurant. They had great food and
very good service... Immediately after a race we ran down and
started jockey chasing. That was a lot of fun. I got a lot of
autographs. Better than the autographs was when I got Isaias
Enrequez's, Chris McCarron's, and finally Corey Nakatani's goggles.
I had the time of my life that day. Edgar 12, Glendale,
CA
...It was
also wonderful to finally get a chance to meet one of my best
friends- Susie. It also made me realize, when I'm an adult in
the racing world I want to do for other kids what you've done
for me. Jess 15, Lowell, MA
...It was
a great experience and I can't wait to get the pictures developed
since everyone at school is bugging me to see them LOL....I
bought the book Matriarchs: Great Mares of the 20th Century
at the Santa Anita gift shop and I'm loving it. I'm really interested
in breeding and bloodlines so while I'm reading this book I'm
in heaven... Miranda 16, Browning, MO
...Thanks
again for the trip out to California! It was great! I've heard
more and more kids asking how to sign up for KTTC. The best
part was seeing the jockey's room. Mike 14, Rensselaer,
NY
...Thank
you for all the time you spent so that me and other kids have
the opportunity to see their favorite racehorses, trainers,
owners, and jockeys and soooo many other people that we see
on TV every day but never got the chance to meet in real life,
or in my case live to far away from the track to see the races.
Sarah 15, St. Clair, MO
...I've
never had very much adult support from anyone but my parents
when it comes to my love of racehorses. It means so much to
me to know that you and the rest of the KTTC team care... Getting
to meet Jenine Sahadi and seeing The Deputy close up in person,
was probably my favorite part.... I sincerely hope that God
blesses your efforts with KTTC. I know he blessed me through
you. Mandi 16, Laurel, MT
To
everyone who helped make KTTC's Road Trips unforgettable
contributors, volunteers, owners, trainers, jockeys and horses
Thanks!
